The FRESH study (Females Rising through Education Support and Health) is a program for young women in the Umlazi township on the east coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The all-female staff, many of whom formerly participated in the program, are working to provide a community of strength and support — as well as job and life-skills training — to the young women of a community ravaged by the HIV epidemic.
